Who can apply?

Companies, organisations or projects either based in Africa or working directly with African businesses, organisations, or communities.

What will judges look out for?

The RE:Africa Award is designed to recognise companies, organisations or initiatives for outstanding achievement in Africa. Clear impacts in terms of people and/or the environment as a result of progressive practices implemented.

For RE:Africa, the judges will look in particular for:

  • Poverty alleviation
  • The creation of sustainable livelihoods and market opportunities
  • Tackling environmental issues, protecting wildlife or reducing the environmental footprint of fashion industry supply chains.

Big benefits of this award

In the wake of the phase out of the Multi Fibre Agreement, Africa and African garment manufacture are losing out to competition in other parts of the world. At the same time, Africa is the source of some of the world's most inspiring textiles.

This award will showcases best practice in the fashion industry in relation to sourcing or production in Africa.
