RE:PEOPLE AWARD 2008

Sponsored By
Craig Cohon CIWEM

Who can apply?

Any fashion, textiles or accessories designer or business.

What will judges look out for?

This award focuses upon businesses and initiatives which have changed the lives of the people and the communities involved in their supply chain and which have the potential to achieve even more progressive social change.

Judges will be looking for innovation around raising social standards in the fashion industry, while still making a high quality products. This could include fair trade practices, improved wages, working conditions, workers’ empowerment, and programs to build sustainable livelihoods.

Big benefits of this award

Despite the fact that fashion is a highly profitable industry, on average as little as 0.4 to 5% of the final retail value of its products filters down to the people who are making them. In far too many cases, workers are also living and working in unacceptable conditions and are forced to leave their homes and families to work in urban factories in order to survive.

Your organisation has pioneered innovative practices to ensure that the people behind your product are fairly rewarded.

Apply now to receive recognition and have your organisation profiled on our ethical sourcing database (RE:Source) and benefit from the RE:Fashion Awards' press coverage.

Applications are closed for the 2008 awards.
