RE:Fashion Awards 2008 Winners Announced!

The RE:Fashion team is delighted to announce that the winners of the RE:Fashion Awards 2008 are:

Congratulations to all the winners and many thanks to all the friends of RE:Fashion who helped to make last night’s glittering awards show so special and so successful.

Last night marked the start of something big that looks set to grow and evolve both next year and into the future. We are confident that RE:Fashion will achieve it’s aim of transforming social and environmental standards in the fashion industry within a decade and last night represents the first step towards achieving this goal.

The fabulous founders of RE:Fashion commented:

"With more than 200 applicants to the awards, we have been stunned by the quality and breadth of what has been achieved. Applicants are changing thousands of lives and have the potential to change millions more. The RE:Fashion Awards represent not just the most important movement since fashion began - but also the answer to the industry’s future.”
Tamsin Lejeune, Director at Ethical Fashion Forum.

“Britain is leading the ethical make-over of the fashion industry. From the gorgeous jewellery brand ‘Made’ to the milliner ‘Pachacuti’, tonights winners are tomorrow’s household names. The fashion industry is watching; they know we don’t want to wear sweat-shop stitched or pesticide saturated clothes. Green, ethical, fashionable and fabulous: what could be better?”
Lucy Shea, Director of Futerra Sustainability Communications.

“If RE:Fashion can reward designers and brands for changing their practices, then we're well on our way to propelling ethical fashion from a niche to the norm. My label Worn Again sponsored the RE:Use Award, I’m thrilled that From Somewhere won and congratulate all awardees and shortlist.”
Cyndi Rhoades, Creative Director at Anti-Apathy.
