Hilary Alexander

Hilary Alexander is Fashion Director of The Daily Telegraph. She is the current British Fashion Journalist of the Year 2003, the second time she has won this award. She was first named British Fashion Journalist of the Year in 1998. Born in New Zealand, she is a passionate traveller, long distance walker, gardener and cat-lover. In May 2001, she was awarded the title Visiting Professor by the London Institute, which is responsible for the fashion colleges, Central Saint Martins and London College of Fashion and the Chelsea and Camberwell art colleges.

Hilary has extensive broadcast experience that includes three years on BBC 2’s Style Challenge, regular appearances on GMTV, Lorraine Kelly, BBC Breakfast and various documentaries for BBC1, BBC2 and Channel 4, as well as national channels in Germany, France, Spain, Russia and China. She has appeared on The Weakest Link and is regularly interviewed for major fashion cable channels including Fashion File, Fashion TV and Video Fashion as well as for major radio stations. She is the regular stylist and presenter for the Designer Catwalk shows at the annual Clotheshow Live in Birmingham. Hilary was recently the featured stylist in the new TV series “Britain’s Next Top Model” which was shown on Living TV.

Hilary was recently awarded an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Design (DDes) from Nottingham Trent University
